The RoXdon VT 1 multi-pattern valve condenser microphone represents our commitment to provide a world class handmade studio recording microphone.

Utilizing the finest grade components including solid brass body and grille, German Metallized WIMA capacitors and hand made custom designed gold plated microphone capsule.  The RoXdon VT 1 incorporates a new generation, specially selected, high gain, ultra low noise dual triode 12AX7B vacuum tube which has a specific detailed tone that rivals the most desirable NOS (new old stock) valves. This quality tube gives the RoXdon VT 1 a unique warmth and superior character, ideal for vocal recording and only achievable by using the best components available together with class A circuitry and dedicated design principles.

The RoXdon VT 1 features nine variations of polar pattern from Omni, Cardioid and Figure of 8, and is achieved by adjusting the variable control on the power supply. There also features a low cut filter switch and -10dB low frequency attenuation switch located conveniently on the microphone body.

We don't believe in paper specifications when applied to a microphone as they tell you absolutely nothing about how the microphone will sound. Suffice it to say that RoXdon microphones have very low self noise, good signal to noise ratio and excellent audio dynamic range.

The RoXdon VT 1 microphone is supplied in a practical aluminium case. Other accessories include 'retro style' shock mount; dedicated phantom power supply; RoXdon vintage style 7-core microphone cable; RoXdon / Van Damme, Starquad, 3 meter, Neutrik gold contact, black XLR output lead; leatherette bag and microphone polishing cloth.

Also provided, is a new Mullard ECC83 valve, supplied as an alternative to the 12AX7B tube. The Mullard (large plate) valve has a slightly lower output compared to the 12AX7B tube, with an extremely good noise floor, low microphonics plus a nice smooth tone making it the ideal selection for stringed instrument recording. 

A unique design feature of the RoXdon VT 1 microphone is the small inspection window in the body enabling the warm glow of the tube to be visible when the VT 1 is powered up.
